2.) Honeywell (SMT Force Sensor)

Honeywell's FFS-SMT Series force sensors are designed to be one of the most reliable force sensors available as illustrated by 20 million Mean Cycles To Failure (MCTF) at 25°C rating ! This new FSS-SMT  Series force sensor is designed to provide precise and reliable force sensing performance in a compact commercial-grade package.

Features / benefits:

  • SMT design, allows automatically assembly
  • RoHS-compliant material meet Directive 2002/95/EC
  • Low deflection ( 30microns typical at full scale ) help reduce measurement error
  • direct mechanical coupling of the actuation ball to the sense element reduce coupling errors
and keep mechanical hysteresis to a minimum
  • electric ratiometric output accommodates supply voltage variations, leading to low ratiometricity error
  • Sensor output has low sensitivity to many mounting stresses
  • Force range: 1500 g;  Over force: 4500 g
  • Supply voltage:  3-6 VDC
  • Opertaing temperature range:  -40°C - +85°C

3.) Honeywell ( Type: ASDX Serie)

Honeywell is expanding our industry-leading ASDX Pressure Sensor family to include the ASDX Series and ASDX-DO Series plastic silicon pressure sensors with pressure ranges from 1 to 5 psi that address many industrial and medical applications.

The ASDX Series with compensated analog output provides a ratiometric 12 bit analog output for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range, allowing for fast and easy integration into standard electronic circuits.

The ASDX pressure sensor is designed to provide digital correction of sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature coefficients and non-linearity. The ASDX is intended for use with non-corrosive, non-ionic working fluids such as air and dry gases.

The ASDX Series' footprint is slightly larger than the SDX, but includes additional signal conditioning integrated within the product. This allows the customer to remove the components associated with signal conditioning from their PC board to free up space and reduce costs normally associated with those components (e.g., acquisition, inventory, assembly). Having this capability within the sensor also eliminates many potential problems that could arise from having multiple components for signal conditioning spread across a circuit board.

Features:

  • Reliable: provides enhanced quality and reliability (<100 ppm) in many demanding operations
  • Accurate, stable: provides accurate pressure monitoring, leading to enhanced stability over time
  • Efficient: allows user to monitor pressure within the specified range and adjust as needed

Remark:
The ASDX-DO Series with compensated 14 bit digital output provides either an I2C or SPI digital interface for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range, minimizing connections and providing higher resolution and faster performance through reduced conversion requirements and the convenience of direct interface to the microprocessors or microcontrollers.

4.) Honeywell (new pressure Serie HSC and SSC)

The new HSC Series and SCC Series are plastic silicon pressure sensors that offer customers three key benefits not found in competitive plastic silicon sensors

Features:

  • Accuracy: Designed to provide an extremely tight accuracy specification
  • Stability: The most stable plastic silicon pressure sesnsors available
  • Flexibility: Modular and flexible design offer customers a variety of package styles and options,
all with the same industry-leading performance specifications

The HSC (High Accuracy Silicon Ceramic) Series:
Industry-leading +/- 1% high accuracy specification,

compensated across a 0°C to +50°C temperature range.

The SSC (Standard Accuracy Silicon Ceramic) Series:
+/- 2% standard accuracy specification,

compensated across a wider -20°C  to +85°C temperature range.

Both Series offer the option of analog or digital outputs. Digital ASIC output in either I2C or SPI protocols from digital sensors accelerates performance through reduced conversion requirements and the convenience of direct interface to microprocessors or microcontrollers. Custom calibration ranges, output options, power options (3.3 Vdc or 5.0 )

These sensors are intended for use with non-corrosive, non-ionic working fluids such as iar and dry gases !

5.) News GOWANDA

Gowanda Introduces QPL Military-Approved Power Inductors

Gowanda's MLP5025 is one of three QPL series introduced

"MLP" Series Responds to Market Need for "MIL-PRF-27" Components:
Gowanda’s three MLP series were designed for power applications in military, aerospace and defense communities. This includes use in communication, guidance, and security applications, as well as in radar, test & evaluation, and special mission applications.
In connection with this announcement, David Schaack, President of Gowanda Electronics, said, “Gowanda Electronics is proud of its accomplishments in the defense community, and we are committed to expanding our support of the military market through additional QPL pursuits for power and RF inductor components. With the testing that is now underway, and intended for the future, we are on track to introduce more QPL inductors in 2009 and beyond.”

In order to achieve military qualification Gowanda was required to do extensive qualification testing. This testing was achieved in-house via the company's comprehensive Environmental Testing Lab. This lab was installed at Gowanda's headquarters location expressly to support the military market in connection with the company’s plans for increased participation in this sector.
